Waste and Recycling Reporting for Collection, Processing, and Contamination

Route performance, weighbridge tonnages, contamination rates, plant uptime, and contract compliance in one weekly view built from the systems you already run.

  • Tonnages reconciled between weighbridge, route, and invoice
  • Contamination tracked by route and by customer, not just in total
  • Contract KPIs reported on the same data used to run the day

Reporting areas

What waste and recycling operators report on first

Each one starts as a single trusted number with a named owner, then earns its place in the weekly review.

Weighbridge and tonnage reconciliation

Inbound and outbound tonnes matched against route records and invoices, so the three numbers that should agree can be checked in one place.

Contamination reporting

Contamination rates by route, suburb, and commercial customer, which is what turns a plant-level percentage into an education or enforcement action.

Route and collection performance

Completion rates, missed collections, and time on route by run, with the repeat problem addresses identified rather than re-reported weekly.

Processing plant uptime

Sorting line availability, downtime by cause, and throughput against target, on the same pattern used in any processing plant.

Contract and council KPI reporting

The reporting a council or commercial contract requires, generated from the operational data rather than assembled separately near the deadline.

Fleet cost and maintenance

Cost per tonne and per lift by vehicle, with maintenance and downtime cost included so replacement decisions have the whole picture.

Frequently asked questions

Clear answers on timeline, investment, and delivery scope.

Our weighbridge tickets and our invoices never quite reconcile. Is that fixable?

It is one of the most common reasons operators build this reporting, and the dashboard makes the gap visible rather than closing it automatically. Once ticket, route, and invoice tonnages sit side by side, the causes usually resolve into a small number of repeatable issues — timing differences, rejected loads, and manual ticket overrides — each of which is then a process fix rather than a monthly mystery.

Can contamination be reported down to route or customer level?

Yes, provided contamination is recorded against something identifiable at the point of assessment — a route, a bin, or a customer account. Plant-level contamination percentages are easy to produce and almost impossible to act on. Route and customer-level reporting is what makes an education programme or a contract conversation possible.

We report to several councils with different KPI definitions. Does that work?

Yes, and it is a strong argument for building the model once. Each contract's definitions are configured separately over the same underlying operational data, so a change in how you record a collection updates every contract report consistently instead of requiring several spreadsheets to be revised.

Do you integrate with in-cab and route management systems?

Where exports are available, yes. Most route management platforms can produce daily completion and event exports, which is enough for the first sprint. Direct API integration is scoped later if it is available and if removing the manual export step justifies it.

Can this cover both collection and processing?

Yes, and the value usually comes from having them in the same pack. Contamination found at the plant is caused on the route, and a report that shows one without the other leaves the operational conversation incomplete.

How long does the first waste reporting pack take?

One to two weeks for a single view such as tonnage reconciliation or contamination by route. Three to six weeks for the full weekly pack covering collection, processing, and contract reporting.
